Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform inventory counts across all warehouses of Emcar and its subsidiaries with a high level of accuracy, efficiency and productivity, in line with the relevant procedures and regulations and providing an excellent standard of customer service to the company’s internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for the accountability of our inventory through proper reporting, cycle counting, shortage report research, control issues and conducting physical inventories.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory
  • Conduct random audits of stock
  • Prepare variance reports, investigate and resolve errors
  • Report on stock control deficiencies and make recommendations to management
  • Ensure that corrective measures are implemented
  • Document and enforce stock control procedures
  • Communicate company procedures in a positive manner
  • Coordinating of monthly/ quarterly physical inventories and follow up reporting
  • Process inventory adjustments where needed after approval from management
  • Replace the cashier on a roster basis
  • Process the daily issuing of cheques, including urgent payments (Road charges, creditors, casual workers).
  • Process MRA BOE bookings and payments on the MNS portal.
  • Responsible for the daily follow up of road fees invoicing and insurance (including markings of cash taken vouchers and invoicing entries).
  • Process daily bookings of local creditors invoices for all of Emcar’s Business Units (except Shipping).
  • Arrange on-time payment of Emcar utilities accounts, respecting tight deadlines to avoid fines and disconnections.
  • Follow up and reconciles charges (Local freight, duty & landing charges) paid with those included in costing.
  • Undertake a monthly reconciliation of creditors’ payments with statements of accounts and request of missing invoices.
  • Process the booking of Skywire account expenses.
  • File invoices paid and their respective vouchers in the appropriate systems.
  • Process petty cash for all Business Units of Emcar.
  • Attend stock takes as and when required for the Emcar Group of companies (MDLM, WFT, EMCAR).
  • Pay and follow up on all Emcar trade licences, factory certificate, general rates and insurance licences (FSC).
  • Follow up on insurance invoiced to customers and their payments to the insurance agents.
  • Perform Cashier transactions (weekend & weekdays on roster basis).
  • Perform Banking transactions (two times per week on roster basis).
  • Book and follow up on monthly Internal transfers.
  • Liaise with the bank for credit card machines requests, for example for events where sales are made.
  • Extract and submit to MRA yearly report for goods and purchases.
  • Extract and forward reports to BU Managers/HR as and when required.
  • Perform any other cognate duties as and when required by Finance Manager.

 

Qualification & Experience:

 

  • HSC or equivalent
  • Certificate in Accounting would be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a retail environment
  • Pleasant and outgoing personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proper know-how of Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One would be an added advantage
